Vintage Roses

Vintage Rose Valentine
Inside the card :--  I have "distressed" the edges of a panel of Ivory card and layered it with craft card to give a decorative panel -awaiting my message! This also gives added weight to the inside, to balance the weight of the Roses on card front.

Products used:-
6 x 6 sq Ivory Linen embossed folded card
Craft card & Burgundy linen embossed card for Heart & layering.
Cream paper for punching + inks to sponge colour.
Embossed panel - I used a Rose patterned Cuttlebug folder
Distress ink -Antique linen
Versafine ink for printing -Vintage Sepia ( much better print quality than a Distress ink!)
Square stud brads -Copper
Lock & Key brads - Copper
3/4" punch - Heart -10 paper hearts per Rose
Leone Em Ash leaf punch for leaves
"With Love" stamp - Hobby Art

I cut the heart from my own template - just fold paper in half and cut away!  Try again if not quite right first time.  The Hearts were liked together to make the roses and sponged to make the cream paper look worn and old. I used Vintage Sepia ink for shading and then a Versamagic-Pumpkin Spice to edge the petals. Character was given to the paper to create the Rose shapes and small quilled collars for them to sit onto the card.   Always use tiny dots of a fast grabbing glue for this work. The distressing works particularly well on Linen embossed card - I started with a shade called Antique white - it looks a bit aged before you even start - I really like it for some things.  All available at JAPONICA.
Happy Valentines Day!
